Commissioned by Rochester Institute of Technology, Lim created a new permanent art installation for the college’s new building. Before Lim started to build with woods, he took long time to perform a mathematical calculation with the numbers of wood pieces and panels and the historic years related to the institute’s history for a numerical title for new art installation instead of using a word. The installation’s title, “The 3(656)” gives students an opportunity to do math because the institute is one of the US universities as very well known for engineering, science, mathematic, computing, and technology programs.
