Commissioned by Penang Government’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the founder and artistic director of George Town Festival, Lim collected the irreplaceable chairs which were crafted originally in George Town, Penang in between 1880s and 1970s, from the antique shops and the old schools in Penang. The chairs were used to create a new art public installation in George Town for the celebration of the 2nd Anniversary of George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. The installation, “The Lost Chairs” is Lim’s first time to create an art public installation in his hometown.
